dot + del is the dream turned reality of stalwart marketeer Susie Fraser. Dot stands for dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s, while del stands for delivery.
So, what’s in a name? This is a tribute to Susie’s parents who were leading lights of the media industry in the 70’s and 80’s and who were affectionately known as Dot and Del.
Dot (Dorothy Webster) broke the glass ceiling for women journalists and was a dedicated advocate of equality. She supported many good causes throughout her life and always championed the underdog.
Del (Derek Webster, CBE) was a leading journalist who not only was the Chair for Trinity Mirror and Group Editor of the Daily Record and Sunday Mail, but he was also Chairman of Age Concern and the Press Association. An outstanding businessman and media guru, he was the first person to bring colour to newspapers and was awarded the CBE for services to journalism.
